Kim Erickson, President

Kim Erickson has her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dallas Baptist University. She worked as a registered nurse in adult medical/surgical, adult intensive care unit, emergency room, newborn nursery, post-partum, and as a pediatric nurse in private practice. She holds a Masters in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and has worked as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for 13 years at Plano Pediatrics.

In addition to practicing as a Nurse Practitioner, Mrs. Erickson has been the Nurse manager at Plano Pediatrics and was also a key manager in the startup and success of all three Pediatrics After Hours clinics, managing the day to day operations. “In my time off I love to spend time with our children and grandchildren and travel. I grew up in central Florida, but I love Dallas and appreciate the opportunity to offer the Pediatrics After Hours service to our patients.”

Devin Fernandes, MD

Dr. Fernandes is a native of Houston, Texas and a graduate of the University of Southern California. After graduating from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, she completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. Before joining Pediatric After Hours, Devin worked in the pediatric urgent care department at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. She is a board certified pediatrician, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Pediatric Society of Greater Dallas. “I attribute my success as a pediatrician to my excellent training in Dallas-based programs and my desire to always continue learning. My family and I enjoy being outdoors, trying new recipes, and spending time with family and friends.”

Eleise Weisberg, MD

Dr. Weisberg is from Baltimore, Maryland. She holds a medical degree from the George Washington School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Eleise then completed additional training at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked in the Severe Asthma Research Program. Eleise served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical School, working in the urgent care facility at Children’s Medical Center Dallas for 3 years before joining the staff at Pediatric After Hours. “In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, traveling and spending as much time as I can with my husband, 2 little boys, and dachshund.”

Jeri Tidwell, CPNP

Jeri began her APN career as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Leukemia Service at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While in Memphis she also worked as an assistant professor at Union University in Germantown, TN and as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a large underserved pediatric office. Jeri received her PhD from the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center and moved to Dallas. In addition to her work at Pediatric After Hours serves as ANCC Content Expert Panel for the Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist Exam, Adjunct faculty for TCU graduate program and Adjunct faculty for TWU DNP program. “I love working with pediatric patients and their families at Pediatrics After Hours. After seeing patients I enjoy spending time with my four children, a set of four-year old twins, Jamaria and Jeremiah, a sixteen year old daughter Deanna, and a nine year old daughter Jordan.

Kristen Waw, MD

Kristen Waw, MD, received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Austin College, graduating Cum Laude. She also graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. Kristen served her residency at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas/UT Southwestern and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Waw is board certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics. As a mother of two young boys, Kristin can appreciate the value of Pediatrics After Hours for our patients. “Our parents like the child-friendly atmosphere at Pediatrics After Hours and the convenience of getting their sick child in to be seen quickly without having to take time off from work.” When away from the clinic Kristin enjoys cooking, traveling, and skiing and the occasional, rare calm/quiet moments at home.

Stacey Humphreys, CPNP

Stacey received her BS in Nursing from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ and her MS in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where you lose your employee parking space whenever there is a James Taylor concert. She has spent 21 years in nursing…all except one have been in pediatrics and has worked in a variety of pediatric settings from outpatient to Pediatric ICU in NJ, NC, and TX. “Along the way, I served in the USAF reserves, adopted four children (one is now in basic training in the Air Force), and I have three cocker spaniels. I like to cook, paint, try to remain sane with three teens at home, and start home improvement projects that I don’t tend to finish.”

Raymond Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson was born in Chicago and received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. His residency was completed at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Following residency he has been practicing in the Dallas area for fifteen years. “I enjoy working with the staff at Pediatrics After Hours, providing excellent patient care in a relaxed, child-friendly environment. I’m still an avid Packer fan, decent golfer and an average guitar player. I was President of Pediatric Society of Greater Dallas in 2006.”

Naomi Piga, MD

Dr. Piga has her medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Her internship and residency were at the Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. “After completion of training, I moved back to my hometown of Plano, TX to join the pediatric practice of my mother, a pediatrician for over 25 years. I come from a family of physicians – my mom is a pediatrician, my dad and younger brother practice general internal medicine, and my youngest brother just graduated from medical school. I love working with children at Pediatrics After Hours. It’s such a great environment to practice medicine and our service is a great resource to parents that are working, trying to manage their jobs while taking good care of their children.”

Nuntavan Boone, MD

Dr. Boone received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. After interning in pediatrics at Indiana University and James Whitcomb Riley Children’s Hospital, she completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Tennessee and LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. she then did a post-doctoral fellowship in infectious diseases at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Boone was in private practice in Memphis, TN and also at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas prior to the joining the staff at Pediatrics After Hours. “I am the mother of two young children, a son and a daughter and enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my family.”

Shelley Weiss, MD

Dr. Weiss was born in Chicago, but came to Texas as quickly as he could! His medical degree is from Rush University in Chicago, and his residency was at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas/University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Shelley is a board certified pediatrician, and was elected Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2004. After starting his own practice in North Dallas in 2004, he was joined by his wife, a Family Physician. “Besides taking care of children at Pediatrics After Hours, I enjoy raising our three children, sharing with them favorite experiences such as reading, camping, and attending musicals.”

Tom Atkins, CPNP

Prior to college Tom served in the Army as a medic. Following the Army he graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN and did his graduate work at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Nashville, TN. Following graduation he worked in several clinics in Nashville, TN and Jackson, TN. He moved to Dallas two years ago and worked at Children’s Medical Center in the Emergency Department. “I am married and have two boys. They keep me busy with sports and other activities. I am an avid reader, and an above average bowler. I have a dog named Sophie, and a cat named Fluffy. Anybody who knows me knows that I love to laugh, and am passionate about caring for children.”

Karen Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis grew up in Ft. Worth and has her undergraduate degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. She graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed her pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Her husband’s job took her to Amsterdam, Netherlands, where she learned to speak Dutch and completed a year of residency to be a certified Dutch pediatrician. “Although we loved living in Amsterdam, family and professional pressures pulled us back to the United States with our two daughters. After living in Oregon for a time, we have settled in Dallas and I am happy to return to my pediatric career at Pediatrics After Hours.”

Russell McDonald, MD - Vice President and Medical Director

Dr. McDonald graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a double major in Physics and Biophysics then moved to Dallas and completed medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After a three year pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas he went into private practice. Russ has been involved in many charitable organizations over the years (Dallas Theater Center, The 500, American Lung Association), coached youth sports and also has been active in hospital medical staff affairs having served as Chief of Staff at two area hospitals. He opened the first Pediatric After Hours in Plano in July 2007 and opened the second location in North Dallas in November 2008. “I have been married to Jeanne for thirty one years and have three children, Meghan who is a fourth year medical student at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Drew who attends S.M.U. Law School and Ryan who is a sophomore at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I enjoy golf, all sports but especially the Dallas Mavericks, and most of all, being with my family.”

Lori Accordino, MD

Dr. Accordino is board certified in pediatrics and completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, rated one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation. “When not taking care of our patients at Pediatrics After Hours, my husband and I keep very busy with our son and enjoy sailing on Lake Grapevine. I love taking care of children and enjoy working at Pediatrics After Hours. The caring staff makes it a point to make our pateints comfortable when it’s a stressful time for the children.”

Mystii Nekuza, CPNP

After receiving her Bachelors of Science degree from Texas Womans University, Mystii worked for ten years in the Parkland Memorial Hospital Neonatal ICU. She went back to school while working at Children’s Medical Center and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Nekuza serves as a preceptor for the UTA, TWU and Baylor University nurse practitioner programs and is on the Clinical Faculty at TWU. She has taught suturing at the local and national level, is a member of National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Texas Nurse Practitioners and board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. “My hobbies include skeet, trap and sporting clay competitive shooting sports, and jewelry design. I am an active member in the DIVA’s Women in the Outdoors Worldwide, and the Susan G Komen Three Day Medical Crew.”

Dr. Lisa Grysen, MD

Dr. Grysen graduated from Rice University with a degree in biology and then attended University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for both medical school and pediatric residency.

“I met my husband in San Antonio and we moved to Dallas in 2008.  We stay busy with our young daughter and Labrador retriever.  We enjoy traveling and are active in our church and community.” 

Rebecca Monroe, CPNP

Rebecca Monroe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. Following graduation, she accepted a position at Baylor College of Medicine as an Instructor of Pediatrics and worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner on the Stem Cell Transplant team at Texas Children’s Cancer Center at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Rebecca is a certified Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner and pediatric oncology nurse. She remains active in the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses and has been the Education Chair for several years as well as a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

“Family brought me back to the Dallas area where I returned to my primary care roots. I have been fortunate to be a member of the caring team at Pediatrics After Hours.

I am married to another Aggie, and we have two precious boys. We are enjoying all the delights of parenthood. I am active in my church and various volunteer opportunities. When I have a spare moment, I enjoy dabbling in crafts, stationery, baking and decorating. And I love to find a great deal!”

Lynne Beach, MD.

Dr. Beach was born in Canada but moved to Texas when she was a child and has lost her Canadian accent. She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Lynne’s pediatrics residency was at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia, while her husband served as a pilot in the United States Navy.

After her husband resigned from the Navy and went to work for Delta Airlines, they moved back to Texas and have been in the Dallas area for 23 years. “Our children have given me the insight, joy, and practical experience for practicing pediatrics. Our daughter attends OU in the theater program and keeps me creative and open minded. I now get to see a variety of theatrical productions! Our son, who is a senior and who hopes to continue his education at the US Naval Academy, currently keeps me busy following his golf career at Trinity Christian Academy and appreciating his last year at home.

I enjoy attending her children’s events, traveling, spending time with my family and friends, and scrapbooking to preserve those memories.”
